Food was excellent. It is a very fun place to hang out. The band was playing Sunday evening when we went. Our waitress was personable and entertaining. I had fish tacos and my wife had the wings. Both of us were very satisfied. I was also very happy to see a reasonable bill.

I love a dive bar and Treasure Trove did not disappoint. Stumbled in here after some light bites nearby and having shared a bottle of wine. I was feeling quite great already so it didn't bother me much that the beer offerings were slim. They had a few decent choices and the beer was kept cold by the coozies we were graciously provided. It could have been my state of inebriation but the tacos (a buck each for taco Tuesday) were delicious and we kept ordering more. Overall, friendly service, great prices and a great tunes playing.

We were staying at a hotel a few blocks away and only found this dive thanks to Yelp. Seriously--thank you Yelpers! I drank run punch & had the mahi tacos. They were both as delicious as I heard! My husband ordered "Andre's Famous Jerk Wings" and Holy Moly--they were INCREDIBLE! I seriously considered going back for dinner just so we could have more wings. My only thought is that all the Yelpers were raving about the fish tacos because they hadn't tried the chicken wings. The wings blew the tacos out of the water, even though the tacos were darn good!

After spending Sunday on the sand my friend suggested we go to the Trove. IT is very warm in this bar because they don't get a breeze. They do have fans running, but when it is 90 degrees out it doesn't help too much. Bottled domestic beer are $4.50. We had the mahi tacos(3 tacos per order) for $12. They were excellent. You get a choice of grilled, fried, blackened, or jerk mahi. We tried the blackened and grilled. The blackened had a good heat kick to it. It is served with fresh pico de gallo and sour cream. IT is a local crowd. There is parking across the street in a metered lot. Staff was friendly.

Stopped by in the early evening to consider dinner. The place was empty. The bar was open and it was hot and humid, so we weren't into hanging out. There was a lone waitress, who was very nice. Beer was OK.

GROSS! Waited for 45 minutes for the worse food I ever had. The Diet Coke was foamy, and obviously some generic mess. Stay away.

This place is a great stop after a day at the beach. The fish tacos were great, and the loaded nachos made a great appetizer. Its iust a short walk from the beach park (so just pay for the extra time and leave your car there). The staff is really friendly, and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and casual.

Nice to get away from the crowds on the beach blvd to this dive bar. we didn't go during a happy hour so we missed out on the good deals, but they had some good food. I had the tuna Philly cheesesteak which was really tasty and my girlfriend had the fish tacos that were excellent as well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good after being on the beach all day. Local vibe and low key. I hope we can make it again for one of their happy hours.

Best dive bar on the beach. Come as you are. You will have a good time. You won't like the bathrooms very much. You're gunna dance your butt off to a live band and drink beers, or whatever you'd like from the bar. Rustic. Metered street and city lot parking, a block east of the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Treasure Trove has announced that the lease is up at the end of the year 2011 and that it will be closing. Ugh! It was one of the better, less expensive beachside watering holes with a fun, mostly local crowd and serving a great fish taco. May it Rest in Peace.

The bartender didn't even know what beers were on tap and was a jerk. Wouldn't serve any food because the kitchen was close to closing at 930 on a Saturday night. Had nothing going for it except the location, wouldn't go back.

Type: DIVE BAR This small drinking establishment is off the beaten path nestled on a side street corner between the Swimming Hall of Fame and A1A/the beach. This open air bar dons a relaxed Caribbean island motif complete with a salvaged canon reminiscent of swashbuckling days. You may even hear a tail or two about the famous Galleon ship wreckage, canons, diving for treasures and their deadly curses if you are lucky from the owner Jeff. If pirates and tails aren't your flavor, look above as this bar is also a favorite watering hole of the Blue Angel fly boys. Clientele are mostly local from fishermen to business folk, so you know the place is special. The kitchen is tiny, as is the menu -- don't let that scare you -- if you have a hunger for a taste of the tropics. Conch fritters, and fish tacos (taco Tuesday), are always a hit, but if you want my opinion, the cracked conch is the bomb, It's grilled, not fried with a spicy dipping sauce. The only place I have ever seen do this, and very successfully I might add. Once the sun goes down the party continues. The Treasure Trove, or "The Trove" as the locals call it, turns into a nighttime party joint with live music. This is also the home of the local headliner Catfish Hunter who has just released his second troprock CD with lyrics written about people and places around Fort Lauderdale. The first is my favorite. Overall, this is a must stop whether for a cold beer, a bite for lunch, or just to chill, hang out and relax. #treasuretrove #thetrove #divebar #fortlauderdale #catfishhunter #reviews

My husband and I stopped in to the Treasure Trove for a drink and some food. This place is definitely a dive bar, but it had a great feel to it. The bartenders were friendly without being overbearing. There was an awesome variety of music played as well. We shared the quesadilla with conch. This was the first time either of us had had conch, and we both really enjoyed it. The bartender recommended the lava sauce for dipping (sweet and spicy), which was very complimentary to the quesadilla. Overall we had a very enjoyable visit.

Located across the Swimming Hall of Fame, this small rustic bar is on a bustling corner. It's has a few tables and around 10 to 15 people can fit at the bar. At first glance, it doesn't look very impressive but the food was amazing. The beer on draft is a good selection and the menu is a decent size with appetizers and entrees. I tried the tater tots which were perfectly crispy but what was impressive was the honey mustard it came with. Fresh and homemade, it was sweet and delicious. Then I had some cracked conch. Much better than the conch fritters. It was grilled and came with a spicy tangy sauce on the side. Then I had chicken quesadillas. Normally not a big fan of them but this place made it very well. The chicken was marinated and shredded finely, stuffed between a toasted tortilla and came with sides of salsa and sour cream. It was a good end to a nice food journey.

Found my new favorite spot on the beach! I was parking to go to Jimmy Johns to pick up a sub to head to the beach when I saw that this place served food. From the moment you walk in the owner Jeff welcomes you and suggested the fish tacos (dolphin not fried). Amaziiiiing...... Served with a Volcano Sauce that is to die for, a little sweet but with spicy kick. The fish tacos were one of the best I have tried, definitely fresh! Chef Andre also came out to make sure everything was good and had a good chat. The atmosphere is casual and great for locals ... Or a hidden gem for tourist. Touch tunes Juke box is on the wall to play your jams. Bartender Marybeth made sure drinks were never empty. Thank you for the great food, service and atmosphere. 10 stars!

Honestly, got here just to use the restroom. I opened a tab and am still here while I write this review. The atmosphere is awesome, as son as I entered I realise this was a place people really got comfortable to just enjoy, dance, get drunk or whatever... Everybody was having so much fun, including the bar girls (not crowded but, the ones that were here made the place full of fun) and than I though, that's were I'm gonna stay. Having a great time here!!!

While the rest of the world becomes more and more corporate losing sense of self, it's nice to have the iconic neighborhood gathering spot that defines the locals and beach community.

Came across this place by accident and was the highlight of my vacation me and my wife had the best time there Jeff and his crew could have been any more friendly and hospitality was the best of all the places we went to. Just happen to be my birthday and they made one of the most memorable one ever thank you again guy's see you next year :)

Best bar I've ever been to. Josh is the best bartender in Ft Lauderdale. If you come down to South Florida and don't come here you are missing out.

Definitely not 4 stars and definitely not 1 dollar sign. Fish tacos were good, but $13 for 3 tacos was pricey. It sounds like it's cheaper on Taco Tuesday. I would go back on a Tuesday, but not any other day. They also only had 6 taps and all but one were kicked. That's pretty lame. Service was nothing special, even though we were the only people there. For families especially, be prepared that this is a bar, not a restaurant. There were only a couple of tables to eat at. Otherwise, it's just the bar. Finally, not critically important, but the bathrooms are outside. You walk past the storage area and walk-in cooler out the back door to get to the bathrooms.

These guys are awesome! Chichatted with the bartenders Jeff and Josh, they were awesome. Even though they realized we were out of townners, they treated us like family; gave us a bottle of liquor, and sent us on our way! We'll definitely stop by just to see how they are next time round'!

Treasure Trove is a small, local dive bar with a piratey beach theme. The food is decent, the bar selection is great, and the staff have lots of personality. For a Saturday afternoon, the place was packed and it was hard to find a place to crash in the 30 or so seats. This also includes the eight seats outside the bar, where you can still watch the game through the big windows. I stopped in for a late afternoon snack and ordered the conch fritters and nachos. The conch fritters were okay but came with a fantastic hot sauce. The nachos were mediocre. The cheese solidified too quickly, the salsa was lack luster. Meh. Parking outside is $1.25 per hour.

Let me start by saying this is the BEST bar in ft lauderdale beach!!! Jeff and Josh will take care of you! In a city full of bars with watered down booze, this place makes for a great drink with good company! I highly recommend the Nassau Royale Liqueur shots! Definitely worth a stop in to a fun open air bar right on the beach!!

Fantastic food and atmosphere. We Had the tacos on taco Tuesday. Wonderful grilled corn tortillas with chicken or beef. I had both. The beef is not ground, but shredded as was the chicken and they were both equally delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming. Definitely a grey stop at Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Definite Dive Bar...fantastic location...cool staff...my kind of place. Has a very cool vibe, extremely relaxed atmosphere, gritty in a good way. I've never eaten here...only had many drinks and they were all good. I recommend ordering doubles. We'll definitely be back...again.

Great Dive. Nice place to kick back and drink some beers as the world turns. Very small place with big picture windows facing the Swimming Hall of Fame and south down the strip, see pic. Great Jukebox and the bartenders are not scared to turn the sound up either. Had the conch fritters and they were just ok, see pic. The dipping sauce they came with made them taste alot better, but if you ate them without it they had no flavor. But who came here to eat...not me...LOL. One of the things I like best about this place is the bathroom. You have to walk outside past some storage area to use this dingy, small, restroom. I'm not even sure if the door closes....LOL. Great character is what this place has so don't expect much. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

We stopped into this spot to grab a quick bite and hang out for a little while on a day trip to Fort Lauderdale. The service was friendly (but not overbearing), the crowd seemed local, they had the games on (two football plus one baseball), and the food was tops. We ordered a tuna cheesesteak, and it was spot on. Soft torpedo roll, tuna not overcooked, peppers and mushrooms and cheese were all nice and soft. The assortment of hot sauces was a nice touch. Conclusion: a good dive.

Okay, stumbled into this place because it was raining. Best find of the day. Staff (Greg) was friendly and always ready to serve. Didn't even have to ask for another drink, it was there. Have to recommend the cracked conch. It was delicious. Ask Greg for the Tropical Island (a long island with a twist) Oh, did I mention the free Wi-Fi.

Great little bar on Fort Lauderdale beach. My favorite thing here is their Taco Tuesday which occurs every week, delicious beef and chicken tacos for just $1 each and specials on coronas and margaritas to go with them. Reasonable prices on drinks and food on every other day as well. The only downside to The Treasure Trove is their bathroom. You have to go out the back door and past the stinky trash to get to it. Not the worst I've seen but certainly not pleasant.

How do I rate a place like this? It's a dump of a bar, but the fish tacos (mahi mahi) were good for the price and the service was professional and friendly. Apparently burgers are the most popular item.

Nice little dive bar by the beach. Their fish tacos pretty much kick ass but the wait can be long and since it is open air they allow smoking which is why I gave it 3 instead of 4 stars.

Best bar in ft lauderdale, possibly Florida or the galaxy. Immediately you feel at home. The bartenders and owner are fabulous, witty and sarcastic with great drinks and taco Tuesdays $1 tacos. They also have an awesome touch screen jukebox with a huge library. This is where the locals go!

  • Dave T.

The wife and I lucked into this dive before a late flight out of Fort Lauderdale. After a weekend of overpriced and/or obnoxious restaurants, the Treasure Trove was a total surprise. We had conch fritters, sliders, and french fries that were fresh and tasty. The place doesn't break any new culinary ground, but neither does anyone else on the beach. Greg the bartender was uber-friendly, and the crowd was mostly locals. They even bottle their own hot sauce. Considering its location at the end of places featuring two-for-one mega margaritas and t-shirts about bodily functions, the Treasure Trove's friendly, laid back attitude is a real pirate's booty.

Another dirt ball joint on the beach and im totally in love with it!!! I think it just might be the monkey head on the counter or just the fact that they had Stella by the bottle for $2 idk I love it
